History: He was born to a pair of big game hunters, but was frequently ill as a child. His mother was supposedly a charlatan fortune teller, but he insists his mother was legitimate. Recently a tribe of drow attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Roland fought at the side of some of the regions greatest heroes but was never overshadowed.

Motivation: He has a rivalry with the Church that dominates his actions; and he is compelled to act according to his religious beliefs

Personality: He is business-like. He takes instructions and follows them to the letter. He believes the world needs to unite to get rid of dire rats once and for all.

History: He grew up in a lower middle class home, but living comfortably wasn't enough. In his 13th year, his parents were killed by a dire rats raid, leaving Adam alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Personality: She runs her personal life as if detached from it. She organizes appointments and outings based on perceived benefits she will get from it. She loves her children and doesn't want them to worry about her. She loves to share her music with anyone who is interested.

History: Makaria was born to in a poor docking district. She spent her early days working in the same smith shop her father was employed at, doing general labor. She has had some formal music training, and achieved minor success. She has been saving her money to try and buy her sister's freedom.

Motivation: Marry her sister to traveling adventurers; and doesn't want to be a locksmith and was forced into it by her family
