History: He was raised happily, as a normal child born to his father and mother. He graduated from the Naval Academy and went to see the world at the rank of Ensign. He advanced relatively quickly due to his good work ethic, understanding of the chain of command, and natural leadership ability. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

Personality: A skeptical and narcissistic woman, Thea's first love is herself. Her second love is also herself. She is vehemently anti-magic. All of it is evil and corrupting in her opinion.

History: She comes from a rich western family. A freak accident while working with her Scribe father left her crippled. She has set out to sabotage the competition.

Motivation: To reunite with her old friends; and to be a scribe again

Description: An older woman who dresses in brown turtlenecks beneath a grey coat with green slacks, she is not a threatening figure. Her hair is short and brown. Her violet eyes dart around the room hyper actively observing anyone and anything.

Personality: She is intelligent and cunning, but she will too often allow her rage to get the better of her. She will lose her cool and rely on brute force to carry the day. She has a cruel streak; something she gained from her previous mentor. She harbors resentment against her former mentor.

History: Sold as a small child to a necromancer, Dagnal was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. Her parents divorced when she was young, and her mother gained full cudstody. She was regularly beaten by her mother, who blamed her for driving them apart. Some 9 years later her spouse died after the birth of her son. Heartbroken, Dagnal never married again. Instead she focused her life to raising her son whom she trained as her mother had trained her before.

History: She is the product a well kept family trust fund and as such has never really known need. A gifted student she started as a Servant, but she got bored and became a Tailor. She used her abilities to travel the world and help people.

Motivation: She is greedy; and she'd like to take her coworkers down a peg

Personality: She is someone who is used to having a large amount of sex appeal. She also lacks a concept of privacy and shares just about everything. She is a bit of a macho woman and will challenge people to random contests of strength and skill, and invite them to random hunting and fishing trip.

History: She was born in the north. A serious injury left her father unemployed and in need of constant care. Her family became saddled with debt trying to care for her infirm father. She moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.

Motivation: Wants to work out more often; and she made a deal with a demon which lead to her current lot in life, and she's becoming increasingly nervous about it
