When money was particularly tight he was walking through alleys when he overheard a Map Maker hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

History: He was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. Through the years after Pikar was born, his mother became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the west. Pikar's mother didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

History: Born in a small village she learned the ways of the warrior from her father. In her youth she was part of a gang. She got caught, but did not rat out her comrades and served her time in prison. She has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to illithids demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: She feels that her past leaves her morally obligated to help; and she wants revenge against illithids

History: His mother raised him in a mountain cabin. He inherited a moderately successful company from his father. Under his leadership it has flourished, and using capital from his venture he effectively owns an entire region. After a long history of fighting, Serpent and his spouse have recently divorced.
