History: He comes from a rich western family. His family was turned out during the war. He and his family wandered west to less war torn lands. He now mingles about in high society.

Motivation: Many giants want him driven away; and he wants revenge against giants

Personality: He cares much about the opinion of others, both in good and in bad: when keeping in line with his opinion, he thinks highly of the other person, but when opinions clash, he can get violently argumentative. He uses his nature as a weapon; he likes to lead opponents to think him in distress.

History: Watson lived on a farm with his mother, near the main road leading to a nearby town. Being born in the north, he completed his medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. He returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. He was a general practitioner in the north for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way west. Due to his spouse's obsession with being a Miller they were divorced and he won custody of their daughter. He worked as a Fortune-teller, and he later adopted a second daughter.

Personality: Prone to second guessing himself, he comes off as nervous. He is obsessed with a lost civilization.

History: His parents moved while he was still in utero so he is the first generation to be born here. He moved from fad to fad and when he turned 15 he discovered poetry. He has became unsatisfied with his lot in life, and decided to take up adventuring.

Motivation: He wants to meet his childhood hero.

Personality: Oppleby speaks confidently about a variety of topics with grace. He is clearly well-traveled and educated. He has no love for corruption and racketeering and views those as crimes of the highest magnitude.

History: Born to a pair of adventurers, Oppleby grew up listening to his father's many stories. He made a point of taking high paying jobs and getting most of it up front. He's since become an addict/alcoholic.

Motivation: Money/treasure; and a need for knowledge about a nearby landmark
