History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his mother always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. He was an athlete and attended two major summer competitions. He never won. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

History: She was born several months after her mother was called into army service. There was a wharf not far from home where she often wandered off to fish. She has since lost track of the people in her past.

Motivation: To find somewhere to settle down; and marry her sister to traveling adventurers
