History: He was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. Since his father passed away years ago, his mother had doted on him, and he came to think her himself as special and better than other people in town. A notion that was reinforced by his attractiveness, a trait in which he easily excels the other men of his town. During his travels, Rurik and his party rested in a cavern that was (unknown to them) infused with powerful dark magic. Upon awakening, Rurik discovered the rest of his party dead, transformed into horrible, mindless undead versions of their former selves. Rurik fled the cavern, stopping for breath at a small pool, and only then realizing his own horrible transformation.

History: Sold as a small child to a brothel owner, Silaqui was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. Her father was a soldier and died while she was still young. Silaqui was left her father's suit of armor and trained in its use and care. She was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

He advanced relatively quickly due to his good work ethic, understanding of the chain of command, and natural leadership ability. He now travels the world, in search of power and loot.
