History: Kathra lived on a farm with her father, near the main road leading to a nearby town. She dropped out of school to support her sick father, and resented it. She has been saving her money to try and buy her brother's freedom.

History: She was raised by priests from a young age. She couldn't stand her childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with her mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. Days after completing her studies, news broke out that her hometown was attacked by brigands. Mardred was horrified and prayed that her mother was alright. However, she heard that her mother had died fighting off the brigands.
