When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. He then took over the family business and is one of the better Merchant for hire.

History: He grew up in a lower middle class home, but living comfortably wasn't enough. In his 12th year, his parents were killed by a gnolls raid, leaving Astar alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

Motivation: Retire the richest man in the east.
