History: He was born on a small isolated farm. There was a wharf not far from home where he often wandered off to fish. He became a plane-shifter, and is stopping over on this plane for a brief visit.

Personality: Qualen hangs on like a leech to those who appreciate him. It was this clingy personality that held back his writing career. He is skeptical of what others tell him and is slow to trust.

History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his mother always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. He couldn't stand his childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with his mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. He has never given up on his writing dream.

Personality: He considers himself a man of culture and sophistication. He likes a good challenge to his wits. He lacks restraint and is impulsive. He jumps in and acts without thinking all too often.

History: Born to a poor family in the city he treasured whatever gifts he got. When he came of age, he joined a caravan that would eventually take him to the capital. He would practice along the way and, when he arrived, be apprenticed to a Ruler. He struck the Ruler job and began his own company from there.

Motivation: He is unsatisfied with his job.

Personality: He is a Mayor first and foremost. He believes firmly that knowledge should be universal. He is a bit of a macho man and will challenge people to random contests of strength and skill, and invite them to random hunting and fishing trip.

History: He was born several months after his mother was called into army service. While studying, he fell in love. They married and had a daughter. He has achieved small success as a Mayor.

Motivation: Wants to open a new tavern; and he is unsatisfied with his job

Description: An older woman who wears an old set of leather armor, nicked and torn by the ravages of time and battle, she is not a threatening figure. She wears a deerstalker hat to hide her balding. Her face possesses mild wrinkles. Her smile is extraordinarily sincere though she does not smile often.

Personality: Always inclined to offer people food she seems plenty friendly. She seeks to pay back kindness whenever she gets the chance. Whether it be in the form of unwanted serenades or the latest gossip she always seeks to do solids for her friends.

History: A powerful wizard made her what she is. From there she went from mercenary job to mercenary job. She spent several years traveling with her friend, before both settled down to enjoy the fruits of their adventures.
