Personality: A grumpy gal she will invite people to lunch so she can critique them. Yet she still seems generally likeable, like a lovable grump. She has a cruel streak; something she gained from her previous mentor. She harbors resentment against her former mentor.

History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Shax was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. She couldn't stand her childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with her mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. She used her abilities to travel the world and help people.

Personality: He is extraordinarily passive and rarely speaks, let alone speaks his mind. He also hits on women, regardless of circumstances.

History: He was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. Before the accident, he was one of the most outspoken anti-Gnomish activists. He was mortally wounded, saved by a kind and fast-acting Gnomish doctor. He has gone from town to town working and never settling down anywhere, but has fallen for a local Layabout. He hasn't told them the truth, but wants to settle down with them.
