He did not win them back, but he came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

Her parents died when she was young, and she was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Dariff grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food.
