History: He was born a particularly ugly child, much to the horror of his parents. He couldn't stand his childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with his mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. After a long history of fighting, Zaffrab and his spouse have recently divorced.

Personality: She is erratic and paranoid. She believes gnolls are coming to abduct people. As long as the job gets done she does not care how it got done.

History: Born in the south to a Bellfounder, Serpent learned a great deal about her mother's area of expertise. In her 17th year, her parents were killed by a gnolls raid, leaving Serpent alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, she was adopted. She has drifted apart from her friends and has been working freelance. Each gave each other a copy of their signature scythe.
