She found a children's book about a Dwarf Barbarian who fought for good and justice and never realised it was just a child's story. She modeled her life after the story, seeing herself destined a hero. She has been saving her money to try and buy her sister's freedom.

Motivation: She made a deal with a demon which lead to her current lot in life, and she's becoming increasingly nervous about it; and her relatives are trying to arrange a marriage

History: He was born to a wealthy landowner in a frontier town, living a normal and happy childhood. He inherited a moderately successful company from his mother. Under his leadership it has flourished, and using capital from his venture he effectively owns an entire region. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

The company confiscated a lot of silver, but the shipment was lost. She has dedicated herself to building a better trade route.
