One night she noticed a nearby shooting star which she hiked out to see where it landed. It turned out to be an ancient artifact of some kind. She has done her darndest to repair it but it is currently non-functional.

Description: This tall, slender woman is bundled in multiple layers and is prepared for a desert trek wearing a turban that covers her face most of the time. She keeps her chestnut hair in a pixie cut. Her voice is smooth and creepy, always level, but somehow just slightly unnerving.

Personality: She is quite gentle and does not know the full extent of her strength. She works very hard to maintain that gentleness. Around other people she will do her best to conceal her emotions and appear jolly.

History: Trained by her father for as long as she can remember she had it drilled in her head that it was her duty to serve her country. Lerissa was a troubled youth. She spent her days as a hard laborer instead of attending school, and spent her evenings with numerous mobsters and gang members. Lerissa decided she wanted neither the life of her father nor that of the evil petty criminals she associated with. During her early adolescence, she took a sudden opportunity while working the docks and commandeered a vessel that was left unmanned. She remains aloof and afraid to be herself due to all the ideals others have placed upon her.

History: The child of northern immigrants he idolized his father. When money was particularly tight he was walking through alleys when he overheard a Scribe hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. He left for the north, certain he would find work there.
