History: He was born in the south. Because his father participated in the massacre of their homeland, illithids burned their ranch to the ground and forced them out. He was preparing to flee to the south, but the outbreak of war prevented him and his mother from journeying south to reunite his family. He has recently gotten a pet goose that steals things from people.

History: He was born a particularly ugly child, much to the horror of his parents. He couldn't stand his childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with his mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by illithids. Veit was horrified and prayed that his father was alright. However, he heard that his father had died fighting off the illithids.

Motivation: He feels the way he acts is they only way to get by in the world; and his name or reputation has been wronged in the past by illithids, and he desires to right it
