History: Heir to a fortune, his parents put a great deal of effort into curing his disease. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Shane grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Shane. He now travels the world, in search of power and loot.

History: She is the product a well kept family trust fund and as such has never really known need. She has chosen to use the inheritance that was left to her frivolously. She knows her nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but her.
