History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Melech was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. He was an athlete and attended two major summer competitions. He never won. After a long history of fighting, Melech and his spouse have recently divorced.

History: Gifted from a young age, Arnold studied abroad. He was one of the best in his class, and was picked up by his current employer. He quickly showed his capability and was soon promoted to a head role. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to dire rats demanding more tribute than usual.

History: Ribbles hails from a village terrorized by giants. He couldn't stand his childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with his mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.
