Her family spent the next few days looking for her, and could only assume she was dead when it came time to leave. The family never returned to the desert due to the painful memories there. Shamil took refuge in the large cave and found the beat up rapier and armor she uses now. She has never given up on her painting dream.

History: Birel hails from a village terrorized by orcs. Because her father participated in the massacre of their homeland, orcs burned their ranch to the ground and forced them out. She was preparing to flee to the west, but the outbreak of war prevented her and her mother from journeying west to reunite her family. She moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.
