History: Kairon lived on a farm with his father, near the main road leading to a nearby town. In his youth he was part of a gang. He got caught, but did not rat out his comrades and served his time in prison. By chance he met his brother recently and the two have been together since.

Motivation: Find a way to reverse the transformation of his brother; and meet up once more with his childhood friend

History: Born in the south to a Laborer, Oriff learned a great deal about her father's area of expertise. When she came of age, she joined a caravan that would eventually take her to the capital. She would practice along the way and, when she arrived, be apprenticed to a Laborer. She moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.
