Hobart decided he wanted neither the life of his father nor that of the evil petty criminals he associated with. During his early adolescence, he took a sudden opportunity while working the docks and commandeered a vessel that was left unmanned. He used his abilities to trick people and travel the world for free.

Motivation: A rival would like him out of the picture; and he is a bit of a kleptomaniac

Personality: He's a bit of a prankster. He knows he is clumsy and seen as such and will often feign amnesia after injury. He moves from fascination to fascination almost instantaneously. If something can keep his interest for a month it is impressive.

History: He grew up in a lower middle class home, but living comfortably wasn't enough. His parents enrolled him in a Commoner school at a young age so that he could practice his arcane talents. He was granted arcane powers by his dying sister.

Personality: Her tongue was cut out and she uses sign language. Her job bores her to no end. She has decided to make it more interesting.

History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Kali was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. Her parents died when she was young, and she was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Kali grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Kali. She is searching for what she claims is her rightful reward.

Motivation: She has decided she is irredeemable.

History: He was born at the edge of vast forest. He moved from fad to fad and when he turned 15 he discovered painting. He has never given up on his painting dream.

Motivation: He'd like to take his coworkers down a peg.
