History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when illithids swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. Through the years after Halimath was born, his father became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the east. Halimath's father didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.

Because they were valued, his mother taught him to defend himself. When his mother died while fighting dire rats, the young Malmûg began to lead the lost caravan. Recently a tribe of dire rats attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Malmûg fought at the side of some of the regions greatest heroes but was never overshadowed.
