History: His parents moved while he was still in utero so he is the first generation to be born here. In his 18th year, his parents were killed by a drow raid, leaving Silent alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He left for the north, certain he would find work there.

History: River lived on a farm with his father, near the main road leading to a nearby town. His father worked until he suffered an accident while they were digging through a hill for a new route. He had to support his now crippled father and took his father's old job. He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

Motivation: He is terrified, and will act out of fear; and marry his brother to traveling adventurers
