Baggi grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. History: The child of northern immigrants he idolized his father. His mother was supposedly a charlatan fortune teller, but he insists his mother was legitimate. He left for the north, certain he would find work there.

Motivation: He is compelled to act according to his religious beliefs.

History: Heir to a fortune, her parents put a great deal of effort into curing her disease. She inherited a moderately successful company from her mother. Under her leadership it has flourished, and using capital from her venture she effectively owns an entire region. She now mingles about in high society.
