Description: He is a paragon of his species. He is larger and stronger than most Gnomes. His skin is light but he possesses many white ritualistic tattoos. He wears blue robes with leather pauldrons. Though occasionally he wears more armor. He prefers to carry a kukri, but if one is not available he will default to his spear. He sports a long brown beard, and similarly colored long hair. His eyes are hazel and catlike.

Personality: He has schizophrenia that causes him to hear things that aren't there and will sometimes respond to them. His respect, as difficult as one would find it to earn, is unwavering; those who more than prove themselves to him, a bar set well above any reasonable standard, he tolerates in varying degrees. Though less modest and more hasty in his reactions to snap at those who irritate him, Burgell is combative with any and all who dare try his patience in the slightest.

History: Born the oldest of a large religious northern family, he was no stranger to responsibility. His first spouse was a Crown-heir, they had one son, but his spouse won total custody. Without his spouse to temper him he grew out of control. He has been saving his money to try and buy his sister's freedom.

History: He got into the Bookbinder business at a young age. A few years later when the north was not economically sound they moved to his current location. He now owns his own business.

Personality: She is irascible and easily irritated. She dislikes loud distracting noises, but is overall hospitable. Her biggest love is that of knowledge and as such will purchase any books or pay to listen to tales that travelers might have.

History: She served in the navy to pay for her family's outstanding loans. Through the years after Bethrynna was born, her mother became increasingly distant from her family, instead choosing to pursue power in the south. Bethrynna's mother didn't care for her much, and the feeling was mutual. She now owns her own business.

Motivation: Her spouse's relatives view her with great suspicion; and wants to open a new tavern

Personality: He considers himself the protector of his home. He feels this is his duty and calling. He is a font of random trivia from the lore and stories he has discovered

History: A studious child he never was much for a social life, not because he was unlikable, but because he did not seek it out. As a young adult he joined a group advocating for an improvement in Halfling conditions. He was granted arcane powers by his dying brother.
