History: Trained by his mother for as long as he can remember he had it drilled in his head that it was his duty to serve his country. His spouse left him for another, whom he beat to an almost bloody pulp. He did not win them back, but he came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to giants demanding more tribute than usual.

History: From birth she was tutored by a cruel and relentless mentor. She was an athlete and attended two major summer competitions. She never won. She now mingles about in high society.
