Personality: He is a jovial happy person, but he is convinced people are living their lives too quickly. He is a logical person and will generally grow upset if things defy logic and science.

History: He was born several months after his mother was called into army service. When he was little, his rather wealthy family often ventured across the mountains to a summer home near a large cave. He would wander through that large cave and adventure through it for days. One day while adventuring a terrible storm took place and he was stranded inside. His family spent the next few days looking for him, and could only assume he was dead when it came time to leave. The family never returned to the mountains due to the painful memories there. Balam took refuge in the large cave and found the beat up bow and armor he uses now. Since then, he has sought to make the best of life.

Personality: A skeptical and narcissistic man, John's first love is himself. His second love is also himself. He believes the world needs to unite to get rid of goblins once and for all.

His father was supposedly a charlatan fortune teller, but he insists his father was legitimate. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by goblins. John was horrified and prayed that his father was alright. However, he heard that his father had died fighting off the goblins.
