History: Born in the west his family was never financially stable. When he came of age, he joined a caravan that would eventually take him to the capital. Personality: A skeptical and narcissistic woman, Valanthe's first love is herself. Her second love is also herself. She has all her life been fascinated with painting.

History: A child with a great deal of painting talent her parents made sure she got the chance to thrive. She dropped out of school before completing her studies. She has recently attracted an admirer that believes she's playing hard to get.

Motivation: Her name or reputation has been wronged in the past by dire rats, and she desires to right it; and she has a crush on the local shepherd

History: Her psionic talent manifested at a young age. Aiming to upstage a rival house, her parents had her trained. She couldn't stand her childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with her mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. She has been saving her money to try and buy her sister's freedom.

Description: An older man who wears a shirt and pants that are bristling with pockets overflowing with maps, compasses, and other navigational equipment, he is not a threatening figure. He has dyed his greying chestnut hair a little too much giving a sharp chestnut color. His amber unseeing eyes seem to look past you.

Personality: He is quite rude, and likes to deride his opponents skill and shout insults at them. He does not believe in violence as a means to an end. He is a dedicated Weaver but believes his peers are too gung-ho.

History: He was born on a small isolated farm. In his formative years he discovered how persuasive he was. He began using that to his advantage selling useless wares at inflated prices. After a long history of fighting, Simon and his spouse have recently divorced.

Motivation: He has passion for adventuring and risk; and wishes to resurrect an old love
