History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Valanthe was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. She dropped out of school before completing her studies. She has gone from town to town working and never settling down anywhere, but has fallen for a local Stylist. She did not win them back, but she came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. She eventually got the idea of being the protector of her homeland from reading books, and has made it her duty.
