History: Sold as a small child to a wizard, Spear was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. As a young child he wandered into the woods despite his mother's warnings against it. Afterwards he claimed he had encountered dire rats who tried to eat his hand. He eventually got the idea of being the protector of his homeland from reading books, and has made it his duty.

History: He comes from a rich northern family. He was married off to the eldest child of a minor noble. His spouse died of illness and he inherited everything. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

Motivation: To share knowledge with the world; and he has money and likes to spend it

History: His necromantic talent manifested at a young age. Aiming to upstage a rival house, his parents had him trained. His father was a mechanic, and taught him how to fix just about anything. He hasn't been sleeping well lately.
