Upon awakening, Aerdeth discovered the rest of his party dead, transformed into horrible, mindless undead versions of their former selves. Aerdeth fled the cavern, stopping for breath at a small pool, and only then realizing his own horrible transformation.

History: He was raised in a forest tribe. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Astar grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Astar. Being a Cartwright kept his interest for a while, but then he became depressed and bored. So he turned to a secret life of crime, taking increasingly more risks and challenges.

History: She was born to loving parents in a slum to the south. While studying, she fell in love. They married and had a son. By chance she met her sister recently and the two have been together since.

Motivation: She made a deal with a demon which lead to her current lot in life, and she's becoming increasingly nervous about it; and her spouse's relatives view her with great suspicion
