History: Sold as a small child to a wizard, Gargax was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. A serious injury left his father unemployed and in need of constant care. His family became saddled with debt trying to care for his infirm father. He is searching for what he claims is his rightful reward.

Personality: She considers herself the protector of her home. She feels this is her duty and calling. She invented a lineage for herself and claims to be descended from several legendary heroes.

History: She was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. She couldn't stand her childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with her mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. She now travels the world, in search of power and loot.

History: Born in the west to a Cartwright, Jezean learned a great deal about her father's area of expertise. Her mother was supposedly a charlatan fortune teller, but she insists her mother was legitimate. She's also a talented Bookbinder, but doesn't like to broadcast it.
