History: He served in the navy to pay for his family's outstanding loans. As a young child he wandered into the woods despite his father's warnings against it. Afterwards he claimed he had encountered gnolls who tried to eat his hand. Being a Mortician kept his interest for a while, but then he became depressed and bored. So he turned to a secret life of crime, taking increasingly more risks and challenges.

Motivation: A rival would like him out of the picture; and he is being blackmailed/forced/etc and this influences his actions
