Motivation: He's repulsed by the PC; and balancing his hectic life and new sellsword responsibilities is difficult

History: He was born in a small desert village. He dropped out of school before completing his studies. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.
