She was mortally wounded, saved by a kind and fast-acting Half-Elven doctor. She has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to dire rats demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: Her name or reputation has been wronged in the past by dire rats, and she desires to right it; and she made a deal with a demon which lead to her current lot in life, and she's becoming increasingly nervous about it
