History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Portia was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. As a young adult she joined a group advocating for an improvement in Halfling conditions. She has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to gnolls demanding more tribute than usual.

History: He was born to a pair of big game hunters, but was frequently ill as a child. He worked as a nervous Jeweler and found it very stressful. He has achieved small success as a Jeweler.

Motivation: He made a deal with a demon which lead to his current lot in life, and he's becoming increasingly nervous about it; and to pay off his debts
