She was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching her a humbling lesson in trusting others.

Feeling disconnected from the small nearby village afterwards, he decided to travel. His rounds led him into the Army with a few individuals who would become his life-long companions. Some 8 years later his spouse died after the birth of his daughter. Heartbroken, Alexandre never married again.
