History: Anselm was born into a poor family. Growing up, he dreamt of becoming a Monk, to bring honor to his family’s name. When he came of age, he applied for a position with his town's local guard, looking to work his way up via merit and eventually become a Monk in service of a powerful lord somewhere. He found a children's book about a Human Monk who fought for good and justice and never realised it was just a child's story. He modeled his life after the story, seeing himself destined a hero. He has drifted apart from his friends and has been working freelance. Each gave each other a copy of their signature spear.

He tries to control his temper but he can't always stop himself from what he feels what must be done. The war was a terrible time for him, and Pandjed does not often speak of it. When he does, he does so with a strained expression and tears in his eyes.

History: Pandjed was born to in a poor docking district. He spent his early days working in the same smith shop his father was employed at, doing general labor. His father took him hunting and taught him how to get in the mind of other creatures. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

History: She was born in the west, but her parents moved at a very young age to the east. In her formative years she discovered how persuasive she was. She began using that to her advantage selling useless wares at inflated prices. She now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

Motivation: She is compelled to act according to her religious beliefs; and retire the richest woman in the west
