Description: A thin woman, she clearly needs to put on some weight, but she still has a lot of muscle. She likes to wear darkened spectacles and heavy clothing, no matter the weather. Her long blonde hair is drawn into a two foot long braid. Her violet eyes show the wear and tear of someone lonely with a great burden to carry.
Personality: This woman loves painting and to teach people painting more than just about anything. She is harsh and unforgiving.
History: She was a bastard born out of an affair, and her father always resented and mistreated her for it out of spite. She took after her father in leading caravans. Because they were valued, her father taught her to defend herself. When her father died while fighting dire rats, the young Valanthe began to lead the lost caravan. She has been a successful dealer in antiques buying low and selling high.
Motivation: Many dire rats want her driven away; and retire the richest woman in the east

Description: He wears a tan cloak and cross-gartered pastel stockings. He is physically well-built. His golden hair is smooth and relatively long. His eyes are violet and he is always smoking a pipe.
Personality: He is a hateful person. He taunts others and blames them for his problems. He is motivated by money and will often try and persuade people to work for cheap. He haggles over everything, upselling his goods and buying cheap. He is persistent in everything.
History: He was raised by priests from a young age. Through the years after Carrie was born, his mother became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the south. Carrie's mother didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.
Motivation: He doesn't get along with people that don't share his tastes; and he has a rivalry with the church that dominates his actions

Description: A woman with a friendly, welcoming air about her, she is bundled in multiple layers and is prepared for a desert trek wearing a turban that covers her face most of the time. She has wavy golden hair. She wears round tiny glasses practically rammed into her face.
Personality: She likes to fabricate stories about her past exploits and how crazy she is, but in actuality she is rather bland. She is accommodating to her spouse and as such limits her hospitality. She is brave and levelheaded in the face of danger and has proven herself a capable leader.
History: She was raised in a white middle class family as the only child. A gifted student she started as a Scribe, but she got bored and became a Healer. She ran away from her former home and has been making her living as a Healer for the past few years.
Motivation: Further expansion of business; and she doesn't get along with people that don't share her tastes

Description: She is constantly adorned with expensive silk clothing, often dyed in bright red and tan, and wears rings and necklaces with large, colorful gems, and carries whips. Her brown hair is slicked back into a classic pompadour. Her brown eyes peer out from beneath her small red hat.
Personality: She takes her job very seriously, in part because she fears she cannot get a new one. She has the money to obtain near anything and knows that if you pay a woman enough she will sell her own mother. Money is her most trusted friend.
History: She was born to a pair of big game hunters, but was frequently ill as a child. Her mother had invested heavily in several trade routes and wanted her to inherit them. Recently a tribe of goblins attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Andry fought at the side of some of the regions greatest heroes but was never overshadowed.
Motivation: To be a Bricklayer again; and to find somewhere to settle down
