History: Varis hails from a village terrorized by orcs. In his 17th year, his parents were killed by a orcs raid, leaving Varis alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He left for the east, certain he would find work there.

History: Orianna hails from a village terrorized by gnolls. She took after her mother in leading caravans. Because they were valued, her mother taught her to defend herself. When her mother died while fighting gnolls, the young Orianna began to lead the lost caravan. Days after completing her studies, news broke out that her hometown was attacked by gnolls. Orianna was horrified and prayed that her father was alright. However, she heard that her father had died fighting off the gnolls.
