History: Vani hails from a village terrorized by illithids. At some point she was captured by illithids and was tortured. After several years of this she finally managed to escape. She became a Marshal soon after.

Motivation: Her name or reputation has been wronged in the past by illithids, and she desires to right it.

History: Gimble was born to in a poor docking district. He spent his early days working in the same smith shop his father was employed at, doing general labor. A freak accident while working with his Barber father left him crippled. Recently a tribe of giants attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Gimble fought at the side of some of the regions greatest heroes but was never overshadowed.

His biggest love is that of knowledge and as such will purchase any books or pay to listen to tales that travelers might have.

History: He was born several months after his father was called into army service. He has chosen to use the inheritance that was left to him frivolously. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by gnolls. Nil was horrified and prayed that his mother was alright. However, he heard that his mother had died fighting off the gnolls.

Motivation: Wants to open a new tavern; and several ex partners dislike his way of doing things and want revenge
