History: He was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. Gilbert abandoned his home at a very young age, living in the fields and plains. History: Her history is one of pain. She was disowned by both parents and raised among the slaves her parents kept. Her mother had invested heavily in several trade routes and wanted her to inherit them. Unlike her family, who was content to work in a sleepy main town, she wanted to work in the city.
