History: He was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. John was born on a far northern forest where he grew up under the tutelage of his mother, an expert Crown-heir. He moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.

History: He was raised by priests from a young age. He couldn't stand his childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with his mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.
