History: Sold as a small child to a brothel owner, Mardnab was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. A few years later when the west was not economically sound they moved to her current location. She routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.

History: Trained by his mother for as long as he can remember he had it drilled in his head that it was his duty to serve his country. In his youth he was part of a gang. He got caught, but did not rat out his comrades and served his time in prison. As of late he has set up a hidden staging nest where he ambushes people he hires for escort.

Motivation: He wants nothing more than to rejoin the army; and he possesses a valuable artifact that the thieves guild wishes to steal

Personality: She is a pretentious jerk insisting that modern society is full of problems and should revert to a simpler time. She is fiercely devoted to her mother, and views her mother's ex-spouse as an evil person for separating her from her legal half-brother.

History: She was born to a wealthy landowner in a frontier town, living a normal and happy childhood. As a young child she wandered into the woods despite her mother's warnings against it. Afterwards she claimed she had encountered gnolls who tried to eat her hand. She was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching her a humbling lesson in trusting others.

Motivation: To share knowledge with the world; and find a way to reverse the transformation of her brother
