History: Born to a Knight, his father struggled to pay the bills. At some point he was captured by gnolls and was tortured. After several years of this he finally managed to escape. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to gnolls demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: Revenge; and his name or reputation has been wronged in the past by gnolls, and he desires to right it
