History: Roger was raised in a hard working conservative environment. Being born in the north, he completed his medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. He returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. He was a general practitioner in the north for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way south. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to gnolls demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: He made a deal with a demon which lead to his current lot in life, and he's becoming increasingly nervous about it; and several ex partners dislike his way of doing things and want revenge

History: Born in the north to a Servant, Emerald learned a great deal about her father's area of expertise. Her spouse left her for another, whom she beat to an almost bloody pulp. She did not win them back, but she came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. She's also a talented Mayor, but doesn't like to broadcast it.

Motivation: Nothing but the best is good enough for her; and to fight the greatest warriors and to fight in the greatest battles ever
