History: She comes from a rich northern family. She inherited a moderately successful company from her father. Under her leadership it has flourished, and using capital from her venture she effectively owns an entire region. Some 2 years later her spouse died after the birth of her daughter. Heartbroken, Valanthe never married again. Instead she focused her life to raising her daughter whom she trained as her father had trained her before.

History: He was born in the north, but his parents moved at a very young age to the west. When the war came and ruined his parents he was left adrift. He was a hard man then and has only learned to fight more as time goes on. He left for the north, certain he would find work there.

Motivation: His relatives are trying to arrange a marriage; and he doesn't get along with people that don't share his tastes
