Description: A plain young-adult man, he wears a robe, a symbol of the four houses of cards around his neck, and a bastard sword on his belt. His auburn hair is heavily combed to the right. His eyes are brown and he is always smoking a pipe.

Personality: Confrontational and typically high on some drug or another. He is obsessed with a lost civilization.

History: He was born several months after his mother was called into army service. At a young age his mother died while driving off some giants. His father being the stubborn sort decided to stay and helped train him in bastard sword use. Recently a tribe of giants attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Riardon fought at the side of some of the regions greatest heroes but was never overshadowed.

Motivation: A need for knowledge about a nearby landmark.

Personality: Cocky and sure of herself, she believes she is the best Miner born in the past three hundred years. She can't help but pocket interesting objects she comes across

History: She comes from a rich eastern family. As a very small child her family refused to pay dues to a local crime lord, who ordered them killed. Her father, a somewhat powerful mage sought to protect her and cast a teleportation spell that whisked her away. She has achieved small success as a Miner.

Motivation: Find a way to reverse the transformation of her sister.

Description: She is a woman of bearing and well nourished. She is generally shirtless and showing off her tattooed chest. She has wavy chestnut hair. Her blue eyes show the wear and tear of someone lonely with a great burden to carry.

Personality: She is a Dilettante first and foremost. She believes firmly that knowledge should be universal. She is often prim and proper but will on occasion tell either really disgusting or offensive jokes, which seem out of character.

History: She was raised in a desert tribe. Like her father and her sister before her, after school she went straight into learning to become a Dilettante. She spent several years traveling with her friend, before both settled down to enjoy the fruits of their adventures.

Motivation: Doesn't want to be a Dilettante and was forced into it by her family; and balancing her hectic life and new dilettante responsibilities is difficult
