History: A studious child he never was much for a social life, not because he was unlikable, but because he did not seek it out. His spouse left him for another, whom he beat to an almost bloody pulp. He did not win them back, but he came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. He routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.

He was mortally wounded, saved by a kind and fast-acting Halfling doctor. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to gnolls demanding more tribute than usual.
