His mother taught him the rudiments of the Soapmaker arts, while his father instructed him in etiquette, music and courtly manner. He was an apprentice working in his mother's forge. He is searching for what he claims is his rightful reward.

When money was particularly tight she was walking through alleys when she overheard a Shipwright hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor.
