History: Born to a poor family in the city he treasured whatever gifts he got. Being born in the west, he completed his medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. He returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. He was a general practitioner in the west for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way north. He routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.

Personality: She considers herself the protector of her home. She feels this is her duty and calling. A true patriot, Shamil would do anything for her country. She is fiercely protective of her fellow citizens and foreign allies.

History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Shamil was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. She was married off to the eldest child of a minor noble. Her spouse died of illness and she inherited everything. She knows her nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but her.

Her respect, as difficult as one would find it to earn, is unwavering; those who more than prove themselves to her, a bar set well above any reasonable standard, she tolerates in varying degrees. Though less modest and more hasty in her reactions to snap at those who irritate her, Elegant is combative with any and all who dare try her patience in the slightest.

History: She was born in a small plains village. Her mother took her hunting and taught her how to get in the mind of other creatures. She now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

History: Fallond lived on a farm with his mother, near the main road leading to a nearby town. His mother was very strict, and drilled into him lessons on being the perfect gentleman. Due to his spouse's obsession with being a Performer they were divorced and he won custody of their daughter. He worked as a Locksmith, and he later adopted a second daughter.
